WeCan is a Wellbeing Centre based in Carlisle, next door to iCan fitness centre.  WeCan focuses on emotional & social wellbeing.

Our centre is accessible for everybody and inclusive to all. We have a full timetable of groups & activities throughout the week that would suit a variety of people! Ladies & Gents of all ages!

WeCan is a safe and supportive environment in which people are encouraged to aspire to be the happiest & healthiest version of themselves. We lead from lived experience & recognise that there are many factors that contribute to our overall health & wellbeing.

Our vision is to empower each member of our WeCan community to create and achieve their own goals and help them on their journey towards improved wellbeing.

We do this by encouraging participation in Peer Support Groups & activities which aim to support an increase in emotional wellbeing & decreased social isolation.  ​ The power of our community is within the group participation and both the giving & receiving of support to each other.

We encourage open & honest conversations which enable us to share our own experiences with each other in a safe and supportive environment. All members of staff are lived experience mentors and fully participate in groups alongside our community.

New for 2022

FIBROMYALGIA & INVISIBLE ILLNESSES SUPPORT GROUP


This group has been developed by lived experience members of our community, and is for people with Fibromyalgia and other ‘invisible illnesses’ to come together, share their experiences and offer emotional and social support to each other in our WeCan Wellbeing Centre.

CANCER SUPPORT COFFEE MORNING


This weekly coffee morning will start in January 2022 in partnership with CVS as we open our Wellbeing Centre for those ‘Living with and Beyond’ Cancer to have a safe and supportive space to share their experiences with others who have similar life circumstances.


The members can also then be part of leading the growth of this group and bring ideas of additional health and wellbeing support that we can incorporate for them and their peers.

MENOPAUSE WORKSHOPS


Brand new to WeCan for 2020 we have collaborated with Dandelion coaching to bring a programme of information, advice and guidance to our community surrounding the effects of Perimenopause and Menopause.


These workshops will be in 4 week blocks and we aim to vary the times/dates so that there will be daytime and evening options to suit a variety of needs.

UNDERSTANDING RELATIONSHIPS


Responding to the ongoing conversations we have within WeCan and the needs of our members we have developed a designated Peer Support Group to offer our community a safe place to talk about any difficult relationships they may be experiencing.


We understand how much worry and upset that difficult relationships can bring to our lives and aim to support each other in this group to navigate our way through any strained relationships whether that may be with romantic partners, family, friends, colleagues or neighbours.

LIVE WELL AWARDS / 18-24 YEAR OLDS


An 8 week award programme where young adults who want to work towards improving thier lifestyle can mix with new friends and our specialists to make and achieve new health and wellbeing goals.

This course Is limited to 6 per session for the purpose of forming a community and feeling comfortable to share thier personal experiences with eachother.

The course includes: Our phygital Live Well course with digital animation.

Outdoor activities such as archery, walking and horse riding, a healthy lunch  and a private workout in the iCan gym.

Work experience in the health and wellbeing field, cv writing skills and much more..
